Mustang Stories
FROM A NUMBER TO A NAME
Our mustangs all arrive to our facility untouched, with a BLM tag number that uniquely identifies them. Our goal is to ready them for adoption; and one key step is to gentle them so they can be haltered. At that point, they are ready to advance their training and their if they are sponsored by a donor, the sposor assigns their name. Otherwise, their veteran trainer assigns their name. This is a major milestone for participants and horses.
Luna

Luna came to us last Fall as a 4 year old mare from Northeastern Nevada. She was planned to participate with Emma in the Mustang Magic Makeover when selected at Fort Worth, TX in September; but shortly afterward we realized she is blind in her right eye, which made her a good candidate for MMM.. Since she moved into the program, working with her veteran trainer under Emma's guidance,, she has turned out to be a truly remarkable horse. She is amazingly sweet and adaptive mare who has learned to trust her trainers and is a quick and willing learner. From WILD to mild, she has also bonded with KitKat our rescued barn cat.
